Really excellent here, hasn't been here for about 20 years because it was a typical club restaurant back then (in short, not good) but now it's just good here, the food is really good and tasty and the prices are perfectly reasonable . I highly recommend it!

We had ordered and picked up food in Corona times. Was ready on time, still warm when we arrived at home (trip about 10 minutes) and delicious! We will do it again on occasion!

... I didn't know it, but there is a bowling alley in the basement, which you can also rent privately. For me the ambience is "iconic" again. The restaurant has a classic menu for sports restaurants (good food, good prices). Unfortunately, the noise level in the guest room is extremely high (lack of sound insulation).

Spartan restaurant, a single room a bit chilly but is compensated by the excellent food, abundant at modest prices.

We go regularly for several years to eat and are always satisfied. Good food and very nice service staff. At peak times a reservation would make sense. On busy days, the noise level may be slightly louder than normal. There is also a separate room. In good weather, be sure to sit outside ?.

So - this was a really funny and quirky experience, but which was truly fun and enjoyable. PSV-Gasttaette is not a restaurant in the traditional sense, so tourists be aware, but the Gastfreundschaft and Gemuetlichkeit is great and the food is good too. This is more akin to a local neighborhood bar/sports club with a restaurant service. The PSV stands for Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein, which is a like a fraternal organization. We did not realize this until after we took a cab here on a late Saturday night, however the hosts were perfectly friendly and welcomed us to stay and have dinner. We had a few beers and then ate our meal of mixed vegetables, salads, and the mains; veal schnitzel and sauerbraten, which was delicious, all for less than 20 Euros a piece. I would recommend the PSV-Gaststaette Freiburg to anyone who wants a good inexpensive meal in a super friendly environment with locals.
